RESOLUTION NO. 9314
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9280 AND AUTHORIZING
CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS AND STAFF MEMBERS TO BE
TRADERS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ELECTRIC POWER, AND GAS
PRODUCTS AND TO ENTER INTO VARIOUS CONTRACTS FOR
THE PURCHASE AND SALE OF ELECTRIC ENERGY, NATURAL
GAS AND FINANCIAL HEDGES
WHEREAS, on March 19, 2007, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9280 authorizing certain employees and
officials to purchase, sell and trade electric energy, natural gas and
financial hedges and enter into agreements for said service, subject to
ratification of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Light & Power desires to amend
Exhibit A of Resolution No. 9280 that provided the authorized electric
power and gas products traders; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Exhibit A of
Resolution No. 9280 to provide for the smooth, effective and efficient
administration of energy resources and enhance the operation of the
Light and Power Department and Gas Municipal Utility Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it necessary and appropriate
to ratify the roles and responsibilities of the employees and officials
charged with entering into said agreements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that, pursuant to the provisions of subsection (a) of
Section 2.27 of the Vernon City Code, it is in the public interest and
necessity to enter into the various contracts with vendor(s) for the
purchase and sale of electric energy, natural gas and financial hedges.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
.SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
amends Exhibit A of Resolution No. 9280 that authorized certain
employees and officials to purchase, sell and trade electric energy,
natural gas and financial hedges and enter into agreements for said
service, subject to ratification of the City Council, as described in
Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated by reference.
SECTION 3: Resolution Nos. 9004, 8940, 8841 and-9280 and
all resolutions amending said resolutions are specifically repealed
and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with this
resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4: The Acting City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
