Resolution No. 93571 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Item 11 11FA 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 9357 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON, FUNCTIONING AS THE PLANNING AGENCY OF THE CITY OF VERNON, AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY SERVICES & WATER DEPARTMENT, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, TO COMMENCE STUDYING THE FEASIBILITY OF LOCATING FIRE STATION NO. 4 AT A PROPOSED SITE AT 5119 DISTRICT BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF VERNON WHEREAS, the City Council, as authorized by Section 65100 of the California Government Code, has established itself as the Planning Agency of the City of Vernon; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department has requested that the Planning Agency authorize the Community Services & Water Department, in conjunction with the Fire Department, commence studying the feasibility of locating Fire Station No. 4 at a proposed 2-acre site on District Boulevard, commonly known as 5119 District Boulevard; and WHEREAS, by studying the feasibility of the proposed new site, the Department of Community Services & Water will b(� able to determine if the proposed use of the site is consistent with the General Plan, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Vernon and the California Environmental Quality Act. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby Ifinds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true land correct. SECTION 2: This resolution is adopted by the City Council functioning as the Planning Agency of the City of Vernon. SECTION 3: The Director of Community Services & Water, in 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 conjunction with the Fire Chief, is hereby authorized and directed to prepare a study respecting the feasibility of locating Fire Station No. 4 at a proposed 2-acre site on District Boulevard, commonly known as 5119 District Boulevard, for the purpose of determining whether the contemplated use of the site would be consistent with the General Plan, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Vernon and the California Environmental Quality Act. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
