Resolution No. 9449R 1 2 3 4 5 6 I1 A" 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 9449 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS: CITY CLERK, COMMUNITY SERVICES & WATER, FINANCE, FIRE, LIGHT & POWER, AND POLICE PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus 1property for the common benefit; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to declare the property from the following departments to be surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are damaged, obsolete, or in poor and irreparable condition and are therefore no longer useful to the needs of the City: 1. City Clerk Department, more particularly described on Exhibit A which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference; 2. Community Services & Water Department, more particularly described on Exhibit B which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference; 3. Finance Department, more particularly described on Exhibit C which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference; 4. Fire Department, more particularly described on Exhibit D which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference; 5. Light and Power Department, more particularly described on Exhibit E which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference; and 6. Police Department, more particularly described on f 1 Exhibit F which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference; and 2 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon 3 that the property described in the above -referenced Exhibits be sold 4 as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 5 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 6 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 7 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby 8 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true 9 and correct. 10 SECTION 2: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350 11 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of the City 12 of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in 13 the attached Exhibits A, B, C, D, E, and F, is surplus to the needs of 14 the City of Vernon. 15 SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to 16 contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other 17 arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibits 18 as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 19 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall 20 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and 21 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 22 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of November, 2007. 23 v- 24 Name: Leonis C.
