RESOLUTION NO. 9513
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 604 FOR THE WELL 14
PACKER TESTING, WATER QUALITY SAMPLING AND LINER
INSTALLATION AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED
PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the
City of Vernon Contract No. 604 for the Well 14 Packer Testing, Water
Quality Sampling and Liner Installation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Vernon that
said contract be advertised in accordance with the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: Contract No. 604 for the Packer Testing, Water
Quality Sampling and Liner Installation is hereby approved and
accepted by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to file in her office at the City Hall of the City of Vernon
a copy of said contract.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to give.notice, in writing, inviting sealed proposals or bids
for Packer Testing, Water Quality Sampling and Liner Installation in
accordance with Contract No. 604 and in accordance with this
resolution.
I SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general circulation
2 printed, published or circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk
3 is hereby directed to post said notice, or cause the same to be
4 posted, in three of the most public places in the City of Vernon, to
5 wit: the northwest corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the
6 northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
7 bulletin board located outside on the wall near -the second floor
8 entrance to the City Hall of said City, located at 4305 Santa Fe
9 Avenue, all in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of
10 California.
11 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
12 directed to post said notice forthwith and the first posting of said
13 notice shall be not less than ten (10) days before the opening of the
14 bids for the proposed contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed
15 proposals or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
16 of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
17 Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 13th day of
18 February 2008.
19 SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
20 cert-ify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter
21 the same shall be in full force and effect.
22 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of January, 2008.
