RESOLUTION NO. 9568
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9362 BY ADDING
SECTION 12a(4) T'O SAID RESOLUTION REGARDING THE
COMPENSATION, COSTS AND BENEFITS OF ITS EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2007, Resolution No. 9362 was adopted
by the City Council of the City of Vernon amending and restating
Salary Resolution No. 9342 to be effective on July 8, 2007 (the
"Salary Resolution"); and
WHEREAS, Section 12a of the Salary Resolution provides for
matters relating to Group 2 employees in the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
amend Section 12a by adding a new subsection (4) to provide for
lifetime medical to employees and their spouses within the Group 2
classification.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove
are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
adds subsection a(4) to Section 12 of the Salary Resolution to read as
follows:
(4) Lifetime Medical.
Employees in the classifications represented by the Police
Association in Group 2 who have been employed as sworn safety personnel
for a minimum of twenty (20) years and a minimum of ten (10 years of
that service has been in the employ of the City shall receive lifetime
I medical benefits for themselves and their spouses.
2 SECTION 3: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 9362, 9373,
3 9389, 9453, 9469, 9491, and 9526, not consistent with or in conflict
4 with this resolution are hereby repealed; in all other respects,
5 Resolution Nos. 9362, 9373, 9389, 9453, 9469, 9491, and 9526, shall
6 remain in full force and effect.
7 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
8 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
9 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
10 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of March, 2008.
