A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING MARTHA VALENZUELA TO SERVE AS THE
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS SERVICES & PURCHASING
WHEREAS, on April 21, 2008, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Ordinance No. 1146 creating the Business Services &
Purchasing Department; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1146 became effective on May 21,
2008; and
WHEREAS, on April 7, 2008, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9581 amending the Salary Resolution to
create a salary schedule for the position of Director of Business
(Services & Purchasing in the Business Services & Purchasing Department
effective May 21, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Martha Valenzuela has exercised the authority and
performed the duties of Director of Business Services & Purchasing
since May 21, 2008, and the City Council desires to ratify all actions
taken by Martha Valenzuela as Director of Business Services &
Purchasing since May 21, 2008; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
formally appoint Martha Valenzuela to serve as the Director of Business
Services & Purchasing from May 21, 2008.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
1 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
2 appoints Martha Valenzuela to serve as the Director of Business
3 Services & Purchasing from May 21, 2008, until such time as the City
4 Council approves her removal or appoints another person to said
5 position and hereby ratifies her actions since May 21, 2008.
6 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
7 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
8 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
9 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 2008.
