RESOLUTION NO. 9672
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9639 BY AMENDING
VARIOUS SECTIONS AND AMENDING SCHEDULES XIII AND
XXI OF SAID RESOLUTION REGARDING THE COMPENSATION,
COSTS AND BENEFITS OF ITS EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2008, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted'Resolution No. 9639 to be effective July 6, 2008
regarding the compensation, costs and benefits of its employees(the
"Salary Resolution"); and
WHEREAS, on July 7, 2008, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9664 which, in part, amended the
Personal Vehicle Allowance and renumbered various provisions in the
Salary Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
amend Schedule XXI, Exhibit U, Automobile Allowances, of the Salary
Resolution and desires to modify certain sections within the Salary
Resolution that reference renumbered sections to implement the changes
in Resolution No. 9664; and
WHEREAS, Schedule XIII, Exhibit M, of the Salary Resolution
provides for the positions and salary scales of positions within the
Light & Power Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
rename the position of Secretary to the Director of Light & Power to
Executive Secretary to the Director of Light & Power with no change in
salary scale and to create the position of Resource Planner in the
Light & Power Department with the appropriate salary scale effective
July 21, 2008; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
amend pages 1 and 2 of Schedule No. XIII, Exhibit M, of the Salary
Resolution to implement the aforementioned changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
Ifinds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: Effective July 6, 2008, Schedule No. XXI,
(Exhibit U, of the Salary Resolution is hereby amended as indicated on
Exhibit A which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by this
reference to implement the Personal Vehicle Allowance.
SECTION 3: Effective July 21, 2008, pages 1 and 2 of
Schedule No. XIII, Exhibit M, of the Salary Resolution are hereby
amended as indicated on Exhibit B which is attached hereto and made a
part hereof by this reference to implement the establishment of a
Resource Planner position within the Light & Power Department with an
appropriate salary scale and to implement the title change of the
Executive Secretary to the Director of Light & Power.
SECTION 4: All references in the Salary Resolution relating
to sections that have been renumbered are hereby modified to reflect

the now renumbered sections in accordance with Resolution No. 9664.
SECTION 5: The provisions of Resolution No. 9639, as
amended by Resolution No. 9664, not consistent with or in conflict
with this resolution are hereby repealed; in all other respects,
Resolution Nos. 9639 and 9664, shall remain in full force and effect.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
