RESOLUTION NO. 9724
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF GENERAL PUMP COMPANY
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 611 OF THE CITY OF
VERNON
WHEREAS, General Pump Company was awarded Contract No. 611
for the Destruction of Well 18 pursuant to Resolution No. 9616 of the
City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services
and Water has reported to the City Council of the City of Vernon on
September 24, 2008, that said work has been completed and,recommends
that the work be accepted and payment be made to the Contractor in
accordance with the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The work of General Pump Company pursuant to
Contract No. 611 is hereby approved and accepted by the City Council
of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The total contract amount is Eighty -Three
Thousand Three Hundred Twenty -Two Dollars and Forty Cents
($83,322.40). The Contractor has submitted the first and final invoice
for Seventy -Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Dollars and Sixteen
Cents ($74,990,.16). Therefore, of the funds due to General Pump
Company, Seventy -Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Dollars and Sixteen
Cents ($74,990.16) is now -due. The remaining ten percent (10%) or the
I sum of Eight Thousand Three Hundred Thirty -Two Dollars and Twenty -Four
2 cents ($8,332.24) is payable thirty five days after the recordation of
3 the Notice of Completion, except such amounts as are required by law
4 to be withheld by properly executed and filed notices to stop payment,
5 or as may be authorized by the contract to be further retained.
6 SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
7 directs payment of said sums as set forth to General Pump Company and
8 instructs the City Clerk, or her designee, to file a Notice of
9 Completion with the County Recorder.
10 SECTION 5 The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
11 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter
12 the same shall be in full force and effect.

The Destruction of Well 18, Contract No. 611 is completed and all work is found to be
acceptable. The City Council awarded Contract No. 611 on May 19, 2008 to General Pump Company.
The total contract amount is Eighty Three Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Two Dollars and
Forty cents ($83,322.40). A payment of Seventy Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Dollars and
Sixteen cents ($74,990.16) is now due. The remaining ten percent (10%) or the sum of Eight Thousand
Three Hundred Thirty Two Dollars and Twenty Four cents ($8,332.24) shall be paid thirty-five (35) days
after the recordation of the Notice of Completion, except such amounts as are required by law to be
withheld by properly executed and filed notices to stop payment, or as may be authorized by the contract
to be further retained.
It is recommended that the work be accepted and that authority be granted to pay the contractor,
General Pump Company, in accordance with the contract.
