RESOLUTION NO. 9787
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON TERMINATING THE MEETINGS OF THE FINANCE AND
PERSONNEL COMMITTEES, SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE
FOR REGULAR MEETINGS OF VARIOUS OTHER COMMITTEES OR
COMMISSIONS OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND REPEALING ALL
RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
THEREWITH
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2.5-5 of the Code of the
City of Vernon, California, 1959, the time and place of regular
meetings of committees or commissions of the City of Vernon shall be
established by resolution; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1149 which will become
effective on December 24, 2008, the City Council has amended the Code
of the City of Vernon to eliminate the Finance Committee and to change
the dates and times for the regular City Council meetings from the
first and third Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. to every Monday of
each month at the hour of 10:00 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
eliminate the meetings of the Finance and Personnel Committees of the
City of Vernon and to set the time and place for regular meetings of
the Police and Fire Commission, the Board of Library Trustees and -the
Public Benefits Resource Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
land correct.
SECTION 2: Effective December 24, 2008, the City Council of
the City of Vernon hereby eliminates the meetings of the Finance

lCommittee and the Personnel Committee; and
SECTION 3: Effective December 24, 2008, the regular
meetings of the Police and Fire Commissioners of the City of Vernon
shall be held in the City Council Chamber at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
Vernon, California on every Monday of each month at the hour of 9:45
a.m. If said regular meetings are scheduled on a recognized holiday,
said meetings shall be cancelled for that week and take place on the
next regularly scheduled Monday, at the same time and place.
SECTION 4: Effective December 24, 2008, the regular
meetings of the Public Benefits Resource Committee of the City of
Vernon shall be held in the City Council Chamber at 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, Vernon, California on the first (I't) Monday of each month at
the hour of 10:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the City Council
adjourns the City of Vernon regular Vernon Historic Preservation
Society meeting. If a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council
is adjourned to another date and/or time, the meeting of the Public
Resources Committee shall be cancelled for that week and take place on
the next regularly scheduled Monday, at the same time and place.
SECTION 5: Effective December 24, 2008, the regular
meetings of the Board of Library Trustees of the City of Vernon shall
be held in the City Council Chamber on the first (1't) Monday of each
month at the hour of 10:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the City
Council adjourns the City of Vernon regular Public Benefits Resource
Committee meeting. If a regularly scheduled meeting of the City
Council is adjourned to another date and/or time, the meeting of the
Board of Library Trustees shall be cancell,ed for that week and take
place on the next regularly scheduled Monday, at the same time and
place.

SECTION 6: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
repeals all resolutions or parts of resolutions not consistent with or
in conflict with this Resolution, specifically Resolution Nos. 8825,
9147, 9209 and 9210.
SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
