RESOLUTION NO. 9809
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING RICHARD J. MAISANO TO FILL THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL,
THOMAS A. YBARRA, NOW RETIRED, SUBJECT TO THE
FILING BY RICHARD J. MAISANO OF THE NECESSARY
DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS REQUIRED BY GOVERNMENT CODE
SECTION 87200, ET SEQ.
WHEREAS, Thomas A. Ybarra has resigned from the City Council
of the City of Vernon effective January 5, 2009; and
WHEREAS, CH: 3.7 of the Charter of the City of Vernon
provides that any vacancy in the City Council may be filled by
appointment of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
appoint Richard J. Maisano to the City Council of the City of Vernon to
fill the unexpired term of Councilman Ybarra; and
WHEREAS, Richard J. Maisano is a resident of the City of
Vernon and qualifies for said appointment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
appoints Richard J. Maisano to fill the vacancy in the City Council of
the City of Vernon created by the resignation of a member of the City
Council, Thomas A. Ybarra, to serve the unexpired term of said Thomas
A. Ybarra, subject to filing by Richard J. Maisano of the necessary
disclosure statements as required by Government Code Section 87200, et.'
Iseq.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
