RESOLUTION NO. 9823
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING RICHARD J. MAISANO TO FILL THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF THOMAS A. YBARRA AS A LIBRARY
TRUSTEE ON THE BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, Councilman Thomas A. Ybarra has resigned his
councilmanic seat effect January 5, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has appointed
Richard J. Maisano to serve the unexpired portion of Councilman
lYbarra's councilmanic term; and
WHEREAS, Councilman Ybarra's resignation, in effect, is also
considered a resignation of his duties as a Library Trustee on the
Board of Library Trustees; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 9059 adopted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on June 7, 2006, the term of Thomas A.
Ybarra serving on the Board of Library Trustees will expire on June 30,
2009; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18910 of the Education Code and
Section 2.34 of the Vernon City Code, Trustees serving on the Board of
Library Trustees shall be appointed by the Mayor by and with the
consent of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the City Council of the City of
Vernon intends to appoint Richard J. Maisano to serve the unexpired
portion of Councilman Ybarra's term as Trustee on the Board of Library
Trustees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby

finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: Leonis C. Malburg, Mayor of the City of Vernon,
hereby appoints Richard J. Maisano to serve the unexpired portion of
Councilman Ybarra's term as Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees
effective January 26, 2009 through June 30, 2009.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
approves and consents to Mayor Leonis C. Malburg's appointment of
Councilman Richard J. Maisano to serve the unexpired portion of
Councilman Ybarra's term as Trustees on the Board of Library Trustees.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
