3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING RICHARD J. MAISANO TO FILL THE
4 UNEXPIRED TERM OF THOMAS A. YBARRA AS A DIRECTOR ON
5 THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE VERNON HISTORIC
PRESERVATION SOCIETY

7 WHEREAS, Councilman Thomas A. Ybarra has resigned his
8 councilmanic seat effective January 5, 2009; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has appointed
10 Richard J. Maisano to serve the unexpired portion of Councilman
11 Ybarra's councilmanic term; and
12 WHEREAS, Councilman Ybarra's resignation, in effect, is also
13 considered a resignation of his duties as a Director on the Board of
14 Directors of,the Vernon Historic Preservation Society (the "Historic
15 Society"); and
16 WHEREAS, Section 4 of the Bylaws of the Historic Society
17 provides that if a vacancy occurs, the City Council of the City of
18 Vernon shall designate an individual to fill the vacancy; and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
20 appoint Richard J. Maisano to serve the unexpired portion of Director
21 Ybarra's term as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Historic
22 Society.
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
24 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
25 SECTION l: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
26 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
27 and correct.
28 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
1 appoints Richard J. Maisano to fill the vacancy in the Board of
2 Directors of the Historic Society created by the resignation of
3 Councilman Thomas A. Ybarra, and to serve the unexpired portion of
4 Director Ybarra's term as a Director on the Board of Directors of the
5 Historic Society.
6 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
7 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
8 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
9 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of January 2009.
