RESOLUTION NO. 9839
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING THE CITY'S DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE
DELEGATES ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE LEAGUE
OF CALIFORNIA CITIES AND AT VARIOUS CONFERENCES OF
THE LEAGUE
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has been a member of the League
of California Cities (the "League") for many years; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
appoint representatives to represent the City on the Board of Directors
of the League and at the various conferences held throughout the year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
land correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
appoints Hilario Gonzales, a member of the City Council, to serve as
its representative on the Board of Directors of the League and hereby
appoints William Davis and William M. McCormick, members of the City
Council, to serve as the City's alternate representatives on the Board
of Directors of the League. Said representatives shall also serve as
(delegate and alternates at the various conferences held throughout the
year. Such appointments shall be effective until the death,
resignation, disqualification or subsequent removal by the City
Council of such representatives.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
directs the City Clerk, or her designee, to send a copy of this
1 Resolution to the Secretary of League.
2 SECTION 4: Any resolution or parts of a resolution or
3 minute orders in conflict with this Resolution are hereby repealed.
4 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
5 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
6 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
7 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of February, 2009.
