RESOLUTION NO. 9860
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE INSTITUTION OF A PARAMEDIC
PROGRAM AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR TO TAKE ALL ACTIONS DEEMED NECESSARY
OR ADVISABLE TO CREATE THE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon (the "City") is a municipal
corporation and a chartered city of the State of California organized
land existing under its Charter and the Constitution of he State of
JCalifornia; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has recommended that the City
consider reinstituting paramedic services being performed by the
Vernon Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to authorize the institution of a
paramedic program and to authorize the City Administrator, or his
designee, to take all actions deemed necessary or advisable to create.
the program and to negotiate agreements as necessary to implement the
program, subject to the City Council's approval of final documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE:
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes the institution of a paramedic program and to authorize the
City Administrator, or his designee, to take all actions deemed
necessary or advisable to create the program and to negotiate
agreements as necessary to implement the program, subject to the City

Council's approval of final documents.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of February, 2009.
