RESOLUTION NO. 9888
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9639 BY AMENDING
SCHEDULE NOS. III, V, VIII, XIII AND XVII OF SAID
RESOLUTION AND ADDING SCHEDULE NOS. XXIV AND XXV TO
SAID RESOLUTION REGARDING THE COMPENSATION, COSTS
AND BENEFITS OF ITS EMPLOYEES (AMENDMENT NO. 6)
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2008, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9639 to be effective July 6, 2008
regarding the compensation, costs and benefits of its employees(the
"Salary Resolution"); and
WHEREAS, Schedule III, Exhibit C, of the Salary Resolution
provides for the positions and salary scales of positions within the
City Administration Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to eliminate the position
and salary scale of the Assistant to the City Administrator position
within the City Administration Department; and
WHEREAS, Schedule V, Exhibit E, of the Salary Resolution
provides for the positions and salary scales of positions within the
City Council Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to eliminate the positions
of Council Affairs Administrator and Council Affairs Manager in the
City Council Department and to create the position and salary scale
Ifor the position of Council Department Manager within said Department;
I and
WHEREAS, Schedule VIII, Exhibit H, of the Salary Resolution
�provides for the positio , ns and salary scales of positions within the
Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to create the positions, of
Firefighter/Paramedic Coordinator and Firefighter/Paramedic in the
Fire Department with the appropriate salary scales; and
WHEREAS, Schedule XIII, Exhibit M, of the Salary Resolution
provides for the positions and salary scales of positions within the
Light & Power Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to eliminate salary scale
for the position of Director of Light & Power within the Light & Power
Department; and
WHEREAS, Schedule XVII, Exhibit Q, of the Salary Resolution
provides for the positions and salary scales of positions within the
Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to change the position of
Administrative Assistant to Crime Analyst with the appropriate salary
I scale; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
amend Schedule Nos. III (Exhibit C), V (Exhibit E), VIII (Exhibit H),
XIII (Exhibit M) and XVII (Exhibit Q) of the Salary Resolution to
implement the aforementioned changes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to create the positions of
Director of Utilities & Government Infrastructure and Legal Counsel in
the Utilities & Government Infrastructure Department with the
jappropriate salary scales; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to create the position of
Special Counsel within the Special Counsel Department with no salary
scale; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to add
Schedule Nos. XXIV (Exhibit X) and XXV (Exhibit Y) to the Salary
Resolution to implement the aforementioned changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:,
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
.and correct.
SECTION 2: Effective March 16, 2009, Schedule Nos. III
(Exhibit C), V (Exhibit E), VIII (Exhibit H), XIII (Exhibit M) and XVII
(Exhibit Q) of the Salary Resolution are hereby amended as indicated on
Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by this
reference, to implement the elimination of the Assistant to the City
Administrator position in the City Administration Department; the
elimination of the Council Affairs'Administrator and Council Affairs
Manager positions in the City Council Department; the creation of the
Council Department Manager in the City Council Department with the
appropriate salary scale; the creation of the Firefighter/Paramedic
Coordinator and Firefighter/Paramedic positions in the Fire Department
with the appropriate salary scales; eliminating the salary scale for
the Director of Light & Power position in the Light & Power Department;
and changing the title of Administrative Assistant to Crime Analyst in
the Police Department.
SECTION 3: Effective March 16, 2009, Schedule Nos. XXIV,
(Exhibit X) and XXV (Exhibit Y) are hereby added to the Salary
Resolution as indicated on Exhibit B, which is attached hereto and made
a part hereof by this reference, to implement the creation of Director
of Utilities & Government Infrastructure and Legal Counsel positions in

the Utilities & Government Infrastructure Department with the
appropriate salary scales; and the creation of the Special Counsel
position in the Office of Special Counsel with no salary scale.
SECTION 4: The provisions of Resolution No. 9639, as
amended by Resolution Nos. 9664, 9672, 9678, 9728 and 9815, not
consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
repealed; in all other respects, Resolution Nos. 9639, 9664, 9672,
9678, 9728 and 9815 shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
