Resolution No. 098931 2 3 M 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 1XIS 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 9893 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPOINTING A REPRESENTATIVE AND ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ORANGELINE DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY WHEREAS, on August 27, 2003, the City Council of -the City -of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 8267 approving a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement creating t he Orangeline Development Authority (the "Authority"'), a Joint Powers Agency, and approving the City's participation as a voting member in the Authority; and WHEREAS, the Authority was established to deploy the Orangeline high-speed maqlev system in Southern California; and WHEREAS, by minute order on August 27, 2003, the City Council of.the City of Vernon appointed William M. McCormick, a member of the City Council, to serve as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Authority and appointed William Davis, a member of the City Council, to serve as an Alternate Director on the Board of Directors of the Authority; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to appoint a representative and alternate representatives -to represent the City on the Board of Directors of the Author ity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true land correct. McCormick, a member of the City Council, to serve as a Director on the Board of Directors of the Authority and Richard J. Maisano, member of the City Council, to serve as an Alternate Director on the Board of Directors of the Authority. Such appointments shall be effective until the death, resignation, disqualification or subsequent removal by the City Council of such representatives. SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby directs the City Clerk, or her designee, to send a copy of this Resolution to the Secretary of the Authority. SECTION 4: Any re solution or parts of a resolution or minute orders -in conflict with this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
