Resolution No. 09911 1 RESOLUTION NO. 9911 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF AMERICAN WRECKING, 4 INC. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT N0. 612 OF .THE CITY OF.VERNON 5 6 WHEREAS, American Wrecking,. Inc. was awarded Contract No. .612 - 7___for the Demolition of City Owned Buildings and Structures located at 8 22.00 55th Street and 2001 57th Street pursuant to Resolution°No. 9584 of 9 the City of Vernon; and 10 WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services 11 and Water, has reported to the City Council of the City of .Vernon that 12 said work has been completed and recommends that the work be accepted 13 and payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the 14 agreement. 15 NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 16 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOTn1S 17 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby 18 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true. 19 and correct. 20 SECTION 2: The work of American Wrecking, Inc. pursuant to 21 Contract No. 612 is hereby approved and accepted by the City Council 22 of-the City of Vernon. 23 SECTION 3: The original contract amount-was a credit to the 24 City for Two Hundred Seven Thousand Dollars (-$207,000.00). Nine (9) 25 change orders were issued for a total amount of Two Hundred Eighty- 26 Nine Thousand Five Hundred Forty-Six Dollars and Twenty-Two Cents 27 ($289,546.22.). The City Council awarded this contract on April 7, 2008 to American Wrecking, Inc. under Resolution No. 9584. The original contract amount was a credit to the City for two hundred and seven thousand dollars (-$207,000.00). Nine Change Orders were issued for a total amount of two hundred and eighty-nine thousand five hundred and forty-six dollars and twenty-two cents ($289,546.22). The City has retained ten percent (10%) of the change order amount or the sum of twenty-eight thousand. nine-hundred and fifty-four dollars and sixty-two cents ($28,954.62) which is payable thirty-five (35) days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion, except such amounts as are required by law to be withheld by properly executed and filed notices to stop payment, or as maybe authorized by the contract to be further retained.
