A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON APPOINTING TRUSTEES TO SERVE ON THE BOARD OF
4 LIBRARY TRUSTEES
5 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18910 of the Education Code and
6 Section 2.34 of the Vernon .City Code, Trustees serving on the Board of
7 Library Trustees shall be appointed by the Mayor by and with the
8 consent of the City Council; and
9 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. .9059 adopted by the City
10 Council of the City of Vernon on June 7, 2006, the term of Leonis C.
11
Malburg serving as Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees will expire
12
on June 30, 2009; and
13
14 WHEREAS,. pursuant to Resolution No. 9823 adopted by the City
15 Council of the City of Vernon on January 26, x.009, the term of
16 Richard J. Maisano serving as Trustee on the Board of Library Trustees
17 will expire on June 30, 2009; and
18
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Vernon
19
intend to appoint Leonis C. Malburg and Richard J. Maisano to serve as
20
21 Trustees on the Board of Library Trustees for a term of three (3)
22 years.
23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
24 CITY. OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
25 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
26 finds .and. determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true

and correct.

SECTION 2: Hilario Gonzales, Mayor of the City of Vernon,
1 hereby appoints Leonis C. Malburg and Richard J. Maisano to serve as
2 Trustees on the Board of Library Trustees effective July 1, 2009
3
through June 30, 2012, a full three (3) year term.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
5
6 approves and consents to Mayor Hilario Gonzales' appointment of Leonis
7 C. Malburg and Richard J. Maisano to serve as Trustees on the Board of
8 Library Trustees fora term of three (3) years as hereinabove recited.
9 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
10
certify .to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter
11
the same shall be in full force and effect..

RE: Appointment of Library Trustees
Pursuant(to Section 2.34 of the Vernon Municipal Code, trustees serving on the Board
of Library Trustees shall be appointed by the Mayor by and with the consent of the City
Council.
Resolution No. 9059 adopted on June 7, 2006, reappointed Leonis C. Malburg and
Thomas Ybarra as Library Trustees for a term of three years.
On January 26, 2009, Resolution No. 9823 was adopted appointing Richard Maisano to
fill the unexpired term created by the retirement of Thomas A. Ybarra.
It is hereby recommended that the City Council appoints, through a resolution, two .
trustees to serve on the -Board of Library Trustees for a term of three years.
