RESOLUTION NO. 2010-35
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 9786 REGARDING THE
DETERMINATION FOR EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT
SYSTEM ("EPMC RESOLUTION"), BY AMENDING THE
ELECTION CONDITIONS OF THE EPMC RESOLUTION
(AMENDMENT NO. 1)
WHEREAS, on December 15, 2008, the City Council of the City
of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9786 to be effective on July 1, 1984,
providing for employer paid member contributions (EPMC) to the
California Public Employees' Retirement System; and
WHEREAS, the City Administrator has recommended that the
City continue paying the EPMC for those employees in the Vernon.Police
Officers Benefit Association bargaining unit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
identify new conditions for the purpose of its election to pay EPMC;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
identified the following conditions for the purpose of its election to
pay EPMC:
(a) This benefit shall apply to all Local Safety Employees
in the Vernon Police Officer Benefit Association bargaining unit; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
amend the EPMC Resolution to implement the aforementioned changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF,VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove
are true and correct.
SECTION 2: Effective March 1, 2010, the City Council of the
City of Vernon hereby amends the identified conditions for the purpose
of its election to pay EPMC to read as follows:
"The City Council of the City of Vernon has identified the
following conditions for the purpose of its election to pay EPMC:
(a) This benefit shall apply to all Local Safety
Employees in the Vernon Police Officer Benefit Association bargaining
unit."
SECTION 3: The provisions of Resolution No. 9786, not
consistent with or in conflict with this Resolution are hereby
repealed; in all other respects, Resolution No. 9786, shall remain in
full force and effect.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage, approval and adoption of this Resolution, and
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cause this Resolution and
the City Clerk's certification to be entered in the File of
Resolutions of the Council of this City.

bounded by the MOU.
