A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON DECLARING THAT THE TOTAL GENERAL FUND
GOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITIES EXPENSES MUST EQUAL THE
TOTAL GENERAL FUND GOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITIES REVENUES
AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR TO SUBMIT AND PRESENT THE APPROPRIATE
ACTIONS REQUIRED TO ACHIEVE THIS BALANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon's total general fund
governmental activities expenses currently exceed the total general
fund governmental activities revenues; and
WHEREAS, due to the current state of the national economy,
general fund revenues are not expected to grow substantially in the
near future; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
bring expenditures and revenues into balance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove are
true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
declares that the total general fund governmental activities expenses
("Expenses") of the City must equal the total general fund
governmental activities revenues ("Revenues").
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes and directs the City Administrator to submit and present,
no later than the meeting of April 12, 2010, the appropriate actions
required to balance Expenses and Revenues.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage, approval and adoption of this resolution, and
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cause this resolution and
the City Clerk's certification to be entered in the File of
Resolutions of the Council of this City.
