A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON SETTING THE DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR REGULAR
MEETINGS OF THE PUBLIC BENEFITS RESOURCE COMMITTEE
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS
OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2.3(d) and 2.5-5 of the
Code of the City of Vernon, California, 1959, the time and place of
committee and commission meetings of the City of Vernon shall be
established by resolution; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1180 scheduled to be
adopted on December 20, 2010, the City Council of the City of Vernon
has amended the Vernon City Code to change the date, time and place of
the regular,City Council meetings from the first and third Monday of
each month to the first and third Tuesday of each month; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to establish the time and
place of regular meetings of the Public Benefits Resource Committee of
the City of Vernon to coincide with the newly established regular
meeting dates, times and place.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: Section 3 will take effect on January 20, 2011.
SECTION 3: Public Benefits Resource Committee. The regular
meetings of the Public Benefits Resource Committee of the City of
Vernon shall be held in the City Council Chamber at 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, Vernon, California on the first (1st) Tuesday of June of each
year at the hour of 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the City
Council adjourns the City of Vernon regular Redevelopment Agency
meeting. If said regular meetings are scheduled on a recognized
holiday, said meetings shall be cancelled for that week and take place
on the next regularly scheduled Tuesday, at the same time and place.
If a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council is adjourned due
to lack of quorum, the meeting of the Public Benefits Resource
Committee shall be cancelled for that week and take place on the next
regularly scheduled Tuesday, at the same time and place.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions not
consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage, approval and adoption of this resolution, and
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cause this resolution and
the City Clerk's certification to be entered in the File of Resolutions
of the Council of this City.

RE:: Change to Regular Schedule for City Council Meetings
In order to allow sufficient time for the review of City Council agenda packets prior to the
meetings, it is recommended that an ordinance be adopted changing the schedule for regular City
Council meetings from the first and third Mondays of each month to the first and third Tuesdays
of each month.
Contingent upon adoption of the proposed ordinance, it is recommended that the regular meeting
schedules of the following agencies also be changed from their respective Mondays to Tuesdays:
1. Redevelopment Agency of the City of Vernon (first Tuesday of each month)
2 . Vernon Natural Gas Financing Authority (first Tuesday in March)
3 Vernon Economic Development Authority (first Tuesday in March)
4. Public Benefits Resource Committee (first Tuesday in June)
5. Board of Library Trustees (first Tuesday in June)
6. Industrial Development Authority (first Tuesday in December)
7. Vernon Historic Preservation Society (first Tuesday in December)
