A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING,PREVIOUSLY AMENDED RESOLUTION NO.
9639 REGARDING THE COMPENSATION, COSTS AND BENEFITS
OF ITS EMPLOYEES ("SALARY RESOLUTION") BY AMENDING
SCHEDULE NO. XXI OF THE SALARY RESOLUTION
(AMENDMENT NO. 25)
WHEREAS, on June 16, 2008, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9639 to be effective on July 6, 2008;
regarding the compensation, costs and benefits of its employees, which
has subsequently been amended by Resolution Nos. 9664; 9672; 9678;
9728; 9815; 9888; 9906; 9942; 10,001; 10,-021; 10,029; 10,053; 10,057;
10,075, 2010-06, 2010-33, 2010-91, 2010-98, 2010-110, 2010,115,
2010-147, 2010-174, 2010-179, and 2010-189 (the "Salary Resolution"); -
and
WHEREAS, Schedule XXI, Exhibit U, of the Salary Resolution
provides for automobile allowances for certain employees using their
personal automobiles in the service of the City; and
WHEREAS, by memo dated December 22, 2010, City staff has
recommended that a monthly allowance for the position of part time
Administrative Aide be created; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
amend Schedule No. XXI (Exhibit U) of the Salary Resolution to
implement the aforementioned change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove
are true and correct.
SECTION 2: Effective December 6, 2010, Schedule No. XXI
(Exhibit U) of the Salary Resolution is hereby amended in its entirety,
a copy of which is attached hereto�as Exhibit A.
SECTION 3: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 9639, as
amended by Resolution Nos. 9664; 9672; 9678; 9728; 9815; 9888; 9906;
9942; 10,001; 10,021; 10,029; 10,053; 10,057; 10,075, 2010-06,
2010-33, 2010-91, 2010-98, 2010-110, 2010,115, 2010-147, 2010-174,
2010-179 and 2010-189, not consistent with or in conflict with this
Resolution are hereby superseded by this Resolution; in all other
respects, Resolution Nos. 9664; 9672; 9678; 9728; 9815; 9888; 9906;
9942; 10,001; 10,021; 10,029; 10,053; 10,057; 10,075, 2010-06, 2010-
33, 2010-91, 2010-98, 2010-110, 2010,115, 2010-147, 2010-174, 2010-179
and 2010-189, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage, approval and adoption of this Resolution, and
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cause this Resolution and
the City Clerk's certification to be entered'in the File of
Resolutions of the Council of this City.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rdday of January, 2011.

RE: Salary Resolution Amendment
Section 11a of the Salary Resolution, as amended by Resolution No. 2010-179 (Amendment 23) on December 6, 2010, provides that certain employees serving in specified classifications may
receive a monthly auto allowance for using their personal motor vehicles in the service of the
City.
It is recommended that the temporary part-time Administrative Aide position in the City
Administration Department receive a monthly auto allowance of $100, as the employee currently
serving in this position will be required to provide messenger service on a regular basis.
Based on information provided by the Deputy City Treasurer, it is further recommended that the
Senior Accountant position and allowance of $125 be removed from Schedule XXI, Exhibit U,
as that position is currently vacant.
It is recommended that the proposed amendments be made effective as of December 6, 2010.
