A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING ANA BARCIA AS THE DEPUTY CITY
CLERK FOR THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Section 2.7 of the Vernon City Code provides that
the appointment of a City Clerk shall be by resolution; and
WHEREAS, on November 6, 2007, the City Council of the City
of Vernon adopted Resolution No. 9455 establishing that employees
holding the position of deputy in the City, including but not limited
to, the position of Deputy City Clerk shall, in the absence of their
director, have all the same powers, duties and responsibilities of
their respective director; and
WHEREAS, on March 1, 2010, the City Council of the City of
Vernon adopted Resolution No. 2010-32 appointing Kristen Enomoto as
Deputy City Clerk for the City of.Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desire8 to
appoint Ana Barcia as Deputy City Clerk, effective February 1, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove
are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
appoints Ana Barcia to serve as the Deputy City Clerk of the City of
Vernon effective February 1, 2011, and she shall serve until such time
as the City Council approves her removal or appoints another person to
the position of Deputy City Clerk. As a consequence of this
appointment, Kristen Enomoto shall no longer serve as Deputy City
Clerk of the City of Vernon effective February 1, 2011. -
SECTION 3: All resolutions, or parts of resolutions, not
consistent with or in conflict with this Resolution are superceded by
this Resolution.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage, approval and adoption of this Resolution, and
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cause this Resolution and
the City Clerk's certification to be entered in the File of Resolutions
of the Council of this City.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th.day of March, 2011.

Facts:
On February 1, 2011, during close session, approval was given for the reclassification of Ana
Barcia to fill the position of Deputy City Clerk. In the past all appointments to the Deputy City
Clerk position have been approved through resolution.
Recommendation:
I recommend that a resolution be approved for the appointment of Ana Barcia as the Deputy City
Clerk.
