A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPOINTING MICHAEL B. MONTGOMERY TO SERVE AS
THE INTERIM CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, on November 1, 2010, by minute order, the City
Council of the City of Vernon appointed Willard G. Yamaguchi as Interim
City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, on May 3, 2011, the City Council adopted Resolution
No. 2011-76 memorializing the appointment of Willard G. Yamaguchi to
serve as Interim City Attorney of the City of Vernon, while retaining
his titles and duties as Risk Manager and City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appoint Michael B.
Montgomery as Interim City Attorney, effective June 27, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby finds and determines that
the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council hereby removes Willard G.
Yamaguchi as Interim City Attorney and reinstates his title and duties
as Chief Deputy City Attorney, effective June 27, 2011, in addition to
his titles and duties as Risk Manager and City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council hereby appoints Michael B.
Montgomery to serve as Interim City Attorney effective June 27, 2011,
who shall serve until such a time as the City Council removes him or
appoints a successor. Such appointment is made with no additional
compensation.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage, approval and adoption of this resolution, and
the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cause this resolution and
the City Clerk's certification to be entered in the File of Resolutions
of the Council of this City.

hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution, being Resolution

On November 1, 2010, upon the resignation of our then City Attorney, Larry Wiener of
Richards, Watson & Gershon, Willard Yamaguchi was appointed to serve as the Interim City
Attorney in addition to hisdutiesas Risk Manager and City Clerk.
In light of ongoing evaluations and assessments of City departments and functions, it is
recommended that Michael Montgomery be appointed to serve as Interim City Attorney, and
Willard Yamaguchi be reinstated to serve as Chief Deputy City Attorney, while retaining his
titles and duties as Risk Manager and City Clerk.
No change in compensation is recommended in either case.
