RE: Voting Delegate and Alternate for League of California Cities 2011 Annual
Conference
Background
The League of California Cities' 2011 Annual Conference is scheduled for September 21-23
2011, in San Francisco. As part of the conference, the League will conduct its Annual Business
Meeting, at which League members consider and take action on resolutions that establish League
policy. In order for Vernon to vote at the Annual Business Meeting, the City Council must
designate by resolution a voting delegate and may also designate up to two alternates.
At this point, the only Councilmembers 'planning to attend the conference are Michael
McCormick and William Davis. As such, it is recommended that they be appointed as the City's
voting delegate and voting alternate, respectively.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached resolution appointing Michael
McCormick and William Davis, respectively, as the voting delegate and voting alternate for the
Annual Business Meeting at the League's 2011 Annual Conference.
