Resolution No. 2011-164RESOLUTION NO. 2011-164 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE GRANT DEED DEDICATING IN FEE A PORTION OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3250 44T" STREET WHEREAS, FORCE-44TI STREET, LLC ("Force") has offered to dedicate in fee a portion of the real property in the City commonly known as 3250 44th Street in the City of Vernon, approximately 1,194 square feet in size, located on the south west corner of 44th Street and Alcoa Avenue (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, Force has delivered to the City a grant deed dated August 31, 2011, dedicating in fee the Property to the City, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A ("Grant Deed"); and WHEREAS, the dedication will meet the City of Vernon's Master Plan of Streets and will be used for street purposes by increasing the width of the right-of-way and the curb return to 52- foot radius; and WHEREAS, by memo dated September 19, 2011, the Director of Community Services and Water has recommended that the City accept the Grant Deed and approve execution of the Certificate of Acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby accepts the interests in real property conveyed to the City of Vernon by the Grant Deed, approves the Grant Deed and consents to the recordation of the Grant Deed. SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby authorizes the Mayor or Mayor Pro-Tem to execute the Certificate of Acceptance accepting the Grant Deed for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon and the City Clerk, or Deputy City Clerk, is hereby authorized to attest thereto. SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby directs the City Administrator, or his designee, to take whatever actions are deemed necessary or desirable for the purpose of implementing and carrying out the purposes of this Resolution and the actions herein approved or authorized. SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby authorizes the Director of Community Services & Water, or his designee, to submit the Grant Deed to the County Recorder. SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage, approval and adoption of this resolution, and the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall cause this resolution and the City Clerk's certification to be entered in the File of Resolutions of the Council of this City.
